Put That In Your Pipe

The Nevada Irrigation District threw a new monkey wrench into the marijuana mix this week when they announced that growers may be required to install “backflow” valves at an undetermined cost numbering in the thousands of dollars. Right.

I thought backflow devices were already required for all NID connections. If not they should be. Nobody wants your goo in the public water supply, whatever that goo may be. Backflow devices are cheap insurance.

NID is making the case that in-home growers will need extensive retrofits costing thousands of dollars. Most problems could be solved with a twenty dollar investment, or maybe a hundred if you hire a plumber to install it properly. The presentation at the supe’s marywanna meeting was over the top scare tactics.

Thanks Bob, I went back and read The Union article, having only read the headline previously. I agree, the thousands of dollars quoted for the price to comply with backflow device technology is way beyond what is actually necessary. And two separate connections is completely unnecessary. Scare tactics are still in the kit apparently, but with diminishing results. I agree that the Nevada MJ rules and regulations were too sparse after legalization was approved by the voters, but I’m amazed that they seem to have worked it out in fairly short order, just using common sense and agile adjustments. Which is diametrically opposed to the California process which is all about interminable committee meetings and boring mudball parties. Sad!

Haha, I like this cartoon, Bob. The B.S. filter may be clogged. I have long suspected that what “they” spray is retardant. Growing weeds in your closet is about the silliest thing. Not very green.
So Sad is a nice song by the Everley Bros., not my closing remark.
