The problem with happiness is, there’s always some self-realized and annoyingly obsequious individual who sees it as his duty to inform you that you’re not doing it right. Or, if you’re lucky enough to have found a can of it on the shelf, they will argue that you didn’t open it correctly. Their way of adamantly pleading their case can be quite amusing, so I sit back, relax, and let others apply the pretzel logic of the day.

Here, on the back deck of my home in the beautiful PNW, I’m spending my retirement orbiting the sun in a near giddy amusement of the words and actions of the ants on a far off hill as they hilariously explain to all who would listen just exactly how it all should be.

And every morning, as I sip my cup o’ Joe, I read your blog as you set the table for my daily amusement and reveal the wacky dialogue of my fellow astronauts. Thank you, Bob, it’s going on 60 years and you have always been one of the most entertaining people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. This would have been a much more boring ride without you.
(Not going anywhere, just didn’t want to leave without saying that.)

Thank you, Chris. We are survivors, and considering the obstacle course of our lives, it’s truly some kind of miracle that we are still here and relatively sane. And if not for your clean cut good looks and forethought, I would still be lost on that pitch black stretch of Highway 20 when Sam’s car broke down.
