    As one who retired from retail management, years after leaving “gold country”, I can tell you that your observations are spot on. This has been the credo of retail since biblical days when Moses led a group of bargain hunters on their notorious shopping run. Had he not met with the great manager in the sky and been given a copy of the ad, subsequent generations would still be wandering the aisles of the Sinai instead of getting delivery in Miami.

    Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door. Make them harder to find and you’ll actually increase profits.

    I never shopped on-line until our local hardware store did their shell game remodel. Shopping local is touted as better than on-line because of the “service” factor. When the store went out of its way to become confusing I opened an Amazon account and have never looked back. Old retail truisms are going to have to reevaluate for the new reality of alternative shopping options.
