A Night To Remember

Last month the Nevada Theater celebrated it’s 150th year of operation. During that time the old brick building hosted luminaries from Mark Twain to Motley Crue. In 1979, it was my pleasure to promote this concert featuring my friends Mistress, who had just finished recording their album for RSO Records. Also on the bill was Thomas Jefferson Kaye, who produced the album and is best known as the producer of Gene Clark’s classic album, No Other. We had hoped to have legendary banjo man Douglas Dillard appear as well, but scheduling conflicts prevented him from performing. We made up for it by having Doobie Brothers’ singer/songwriter/guitarist Tom Johnston and the late Doc Halstead fill the gap. It was one hell of a night, and I’m proud to have been a small addition to a long list of great shows at the theater.
