Burning Questions

    There’s no question that better forest management, which Trump inelegantly described as “raking and cleaning,” is just one of myriad changes that must come to how Californians exist in the wildland-urban interface (WUI).

    Another piece is the construct of energy utilities that, particularly in rural regions, make our modern life possible. As Steve Frisch introduced here in a previous thread, State Senator Jerry Hill of California’s 13th district would like to begin the discussion on breaking up, and possibly moving to the muni model, both SoCalEd (SCE) and PG&E (PCG).

    This discussion will take up a tremendous amount of political oxygen in the room in 2019 in our state, and us hillbillies need to prepare for participating vigorously in that discussion. First question: what is Gavin Newsom’s view?
