Elected city councilperson forms posse to expose anonymous blogger. Promises to keep whistle blower’s identity anonymous. As someone else once said, “you can’t make this stuff up.”

Does a government official have the right to unmask and anonymous critic?

This is all going in the wrong direction: https://www.ncscooper.com/officials-nc-scooper-may-be-developing-weapons-grade-satire/
Heavy Ironic this Constitution Day weekend. Deep breaths folks…
I would much rather be discussing hopes and best wishes to our friends in Houston and other areas who have suffered the wrath of Harvey, and now the people of the Caribbean who are trying to recover from Irma, their homes and businesses destroyed, with certainly a long recovery period.
In particular, a shout out to Steve Cottrell over there in St. Augustine…we’re pulling for you man. Batten down the hatches!
Michael A.
Mike:
Appreciate the thought.
Susi and I are in Norcross, GA., a few miles NE of Atlanta.
We hunkered down when Matthew hit St. Augustine last October, but bailed this time. Not sure what shape our apartment is in, but I guess we’ll find out when we get back (Wednesday night, I hope).
Water is still on in SA, so that’s good news. But power is apparently still out. Bad news. Hope they get it going by tomorrow evening.
If we get home and find that no windows were broken and the roof didn’t rip away, we will consider things about as good as they can be following a hurricane.
Meantime, we’ll hang out here –– not far from RL’s old stomping grounds during the Carrie Nation days.
Glad to hear you survived “the big one,” Steve. Hurricanes, tornadoes and chiggers are a few of the reasons I decided to relocate back to California. Stay dry, my friend.
I hope everything in SA is doing OK Steve. Good to hear from you. I sure do enjoy the history lessons you provide monthly in the Advocate. Thank you.
Doing a search on the Scooper website, I found a few articles about Steve. But I think this one is the ultimate testament to his legacy in Nevada City:

sorry…
I meant “breathes”
“Breathe” Ha!

Bob, it doesn’t sound like you are taking this very seriously.
