Interesting comparison, since the very same people who claim we are trying to take away their firearms are the ones who are taking away our right to vote. For them, our Constitution and our laws have become a menu of selective items.

You can make the argument that many of the provisions in the so-called voting “reforms” are weighted toward the party that wrote them, but even many Democrats agree that having a valid ID is essential. How can you be “in the system” if you don’t have a Social Security number? Who are these outsiders? How do they function in day to day life?

    • Chris Peterson says:

Here in Oregon, and elsewhere, where voting is done at your leisure at your dining room table, you furnish your ID when you register to vote and from then on, no problem. If your signature doesn’t match, for whatever reason, it is communicated to you and you have the ability to alleviate the issue so your vote will count.
This whole issue has been clouded by the same idiotic “make up your own facts” fools who also argue against vaccinations, global warming, and any other ignorant diatribe they can come up with. THERE IS NO SIGNIFICANT VOTER FRAUD IN US ELECTIONS!
If you tell me that the sky is purple, I will laugh in your face and walk away; that’s the same reaction you will get if you try to tell me that there is voter fraud, or that your candidate lost because of it. Sheer idiocy.

I know you always try to find the middle of the road, but in this instance, like many others today, the factual dividing line is off the road. I don’t care if 40% of the population thinks 2 plus 2 is 5; they’re just plain fucking wrong.
