As a longtime fan of PJO, I was disappointed that he didn’t include in his anti-Trump dissertation the specific fears he has about what Trump might do in the next four years. In comparing the parties, he made it clear that 1) the Dems pretty much are wrong about everything in their plan forward, and 2) that he likes what Trump policies have accomplished. Nevertheless, his overarching fear remains that Trump is an unpredictable “toddler” who might do some unspecified thing wrong in the future that is irredeemable. But more acceptable are the Dems who will do the known things wrong, things that are “normally wrong” and therefore redeemable. In his past observations PJO has not been so aggravatingly mushy about what he dislikes. And I might also point out, that since the Great Society days, nothing that the Left has done wrong has yet to be redeemed – it’s been a one-way street.

PJ joins a long list of unloyal Conservolibriums, or whatever you guys are calling yourselves these days. It’s just evident that more people are seeing through the quick talking used Yuro salesman. It’s not really that tough if you have half a brain.
We just finished watching the new Borat movie. (Hilarious!) Mary Ann asked me how they could get so many people, especially Rudy Guiliani, to fall for a stunt like that. I told her most Trumpublicans are very gullible. Hell, they’re still looking for Obama’s birth certificate.

I find his analogy of the American pie to be near idiotic. It’s not a matter of an ability to make more pies, it’s that, at the end of the day, when we’ve all put our collective offerings into the ingredients, not only are the wealthiest being allowed to contribute substantially less and less to the ingredient list, they also continue to receive a larger portion of the final product. An ever-smaller group contributing ever less and receiving ever more of the pie being echoed by a hollow system where, nightly, we are reminded of how well they’re being fed by observances of their health and wealth via the stock market.

It is a shrinking cabal of lower taxed, heavily subsidized individuals, which PJ seems to think is OK, as long as we keep making more pies. I think he’s got one tire in the snow and is losing his steering. Like Wolf Blitzer, his efforts to stay relevant are making him look less cognizant and more out of touch with everyday folk.

If you look beyond the Simple Simon argument of income inequality to determine the quality of life in the world’s nations, you quickly realize that there must be something else that makes people risk life and limb to illegally enter the United States (Gini Index 45.0), instead of, say, Singapore (45.9), China (46.5), Russia (41.2), Sweden (24.9) – something that our Left is doing its best to destroy.

And, once again, you have shown that a little knowledge can be close to pure ignorance.
There are so many different ways of showing our discrepancies in income equality, here in the good ol’ USA and most of them are more current than your 2007 figures.
For instance, in the Human Development Index, or HDI, for 2018, the US was one of the few countries, worldwide, that showed a regression in the development of our population; a loss of growth of 0.011, just one tick above Yemen, which everyone knows we and Saudi Arabia have been bombing into oblivion for years now. They’re at 0.012. Which means, as a country, we’re going down as a society, while the rest of the world is moving forward.
So, please, these kinds of figures may impress your friends as a handout at your clan meetings, but you need a “little more knowledge” to pass that crap off here.

It looks like for Chris Peterson, numbers were never his strong suit. And this for one of those super-educated liberals.

    • Chris Peterson says:

      Rebane,
Look at the last column of the chart you’re using; the date of the information used for the US is 2007.
“The CIA Factbook is full of usually minor errors, inaccuracies, and out-of-date information, which are often repeated elsewhere due to the Factbook’s widespread use as a reference. For example, Albania was until recently, described in the Factbook as 70% Muslim, 20% Eastern Orthodox, and 10% Roman Catholic, which was based on a survey conducted in 1939, before World War II.”

Your information is grossly outdated, which, quite typically, explains your conservative political philosophy.
