Looks like NID is backing off from an electrical connection. Good. They have enough things to waste money on as is.

    As I wrote in my column, NID would perform a real service to the community by going into the high speed internet business. It already owns the right-of-way it would need to build the system, it would be a profitable business, and it wouldn’t require the massive capital investment buying PG&E’s infrastructure entails.

    It would also make NID popular–at least until the next dam proposal.
