  1. George Rebane says:

Bob, do you contend that this gerrymandering is something unique to Republicans, or the ongoing sign of our times?

    • RL CRABB says:

Show me some contortionists on the other side. I’ll gladly add them to the geographical zoo.

    • Chris Peterson says:

For quite some time, the minority party has held onto state legislatures through their gerrymandering project, labeled project “Redmap.” But, the Supreme Court has been reversing their attempted stifling of the majority’s voice in state after state due to citizen-born ballot referendums, which the minority party has no ability to stop.
Lesson learned? Either party can cheat by drawing political districts using “cracking” or “packing” techniques when they control their state legislatures, but the majority of voters, solidly in the blue column, can and will use the Constitution to reverse such threats to our democratic republic’s health and well being.
Republicans already have the Senate chamber to their advantage, where 50% of the Senators represent only 38% of our population, but the House is based on popular representation and no amount of underhanded chicanery can change that Constitutional fact.
