   I always heard it was slang for the right way of looking at things, as in, “You’ve got it all wrong. Take a ‘proper gander’ at this here.”

   Either way, it’s where those who don’t have the foggiest idea get their foggiest ideas.

   Of course, it’s also a committee of cardinals of the Roman Catholic Church and I believe I can express it’s validity in no better way.

   I believe it was Thurber who came up with proper gander. Mine is just a sideways interpretation.

     Perhaps, one of these days, the modern day Danny Kaye will star in one of your movies. And why not, you’ve already written one of the best songs I’ve ever heard.
