Holding Pattern

Not much talk about elections right now. Oh, the candidates are still issuing statements and taking potshots at each other, but there are more important things to consider.

Like the morons in Congress rearranging deck chairs while the ship of state is dead in the water. It wouldn’t be an emergency spending bill without both sides trying to make major changes to benefit their side.

And the people who absolutely refuse to stay at home. Despite all the quacking about government overreach, protecting the public is exactly what government is supposed to do when we are being invaded by a ruthless invisible enemy.

Hopefully, this will pass soon, and we can get back to the business of electing a president.

Until then, hunker down with a bowl of popcorn and binge on Netflix.

  1. Chris Peterson says:

“both sides trying to make major changes to benefit their side.”

I know you try to maintain a middle-of-the-road narrative, but I really don’t see the Dems asking for anything but help for everyday folk, small businesses, non-profits, and healthcare workers, while republicans are attempting to give non-tax-paying corporations yet another half trillion of our hard-earned money.

Meanwhile, in a much smaller economy, all schools in Canada are closed for the rest of the school year, and each family will receive $950 every two weeks for the next 15 weeks. Banks were notified to suspend mortgage payments for at least 6 months, and student loans are deferred.

Thank our lucky stars we live in the richest nation on Earth and one that is governed by the consent of the people. Forget free healthcare, I bet there are a lot of Canadians who wish they lived here, by golly.
