    Why doesn’t the good professor step up to that plate? Is he afraid he’ll whiff?

      Two reasons:
      1. Wasn’t born here, so ineligible.
      2. That makes him an immigrant, so unacceptable.

      As is usually the case, self-described leaders of radical movements seldom have the qualities or qualifications needed to be a constructive force within the system. That’s why their so loud; because they’re all the way back in the cheap seats.
