    Another tip for seniors: If you get a call in the middle of the night from someone posing as a law enforcement officer or a lawyer, informing you that your nephew (or some other relative) is being held on drug or traffic charges, nicely inform the caller that the person about whom they are calling, “never was worth a damn and they should keep the worthless bastard.” See if they’ll come down on the fine. If they do, feel free to use that airhorn you have next to the phone to use on telemarketers.

  2. Never reveal your daughter’s childhood nickname to the man in her life.

    Why do parents agonize for months coming up with a name for a child, then give it a nickname shortly after it’s born? (“Hey, you” doesn’t count as a nickname.)
