Missing in Action

lwv-lamalfa-gaines014This is not an endorsement of the Democratic challengers in their respective contests. I believe when you represent the people of your district, you have an obligation to come forward and defend your record in election years, regardless of party. These two take it for granted they will be reelected without having to face the public. They should watch out. Their edge in registration ain’t what it used to be.

DOUG LAMALFA… Afraid to show up and answer why he won’t denounce Trump, and explain his voting record.
Isn’t he a part of the problem in D.C.?
    Career politician? Bottom feeder?

  2. Greg Goodknight says:

I’ve had some quality 1:1 time with Jim Reid, nice enough fellow. Nope, there is no obligation to show up and share the stage with a relatively unknown underdog. No Pol will do that… there is no upside at all for the incumbent.

It doesn’t help that the LWW has always leaned towards Democrats and these incumbents are GOP.

    • Chris Peterson says:

      Great points, Greg.
Debating an unknown challenger serves to validate their candidacy, especially in a hostile area of educated and informed voters. Pragmatically speaking, it’s better to run on vague perceptions than risk full exposure; an incumbent has nowhere to go but down, in such an environment.
Yet still, there’s that whole “democracy” thing.
