  1. Chris Peterson says:

I think it’s great that Trump is helping Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood resurrect their 9-11 careers and, once again, show that they’d “gladly stand up”, as long as it’s on a stage and worth money.

  2. rl crabb says:

Threatening to destroy someone’s livelihood is not really a great way to win their support. Most of the time it backfires anyway. When the Republicans boycotted the Dixie Chicks, they sold a lot of albums.

    • steven frisch says:

I’m with you on this Bob; never acceptable to threaten livelihood…or lives.

    • Chris Peterson says:

The performers I’ve seen lined up so far have nothing to lose; 100 pounds of sea salt would be an improvement. Greenwood and Keith are “theme” artists; and that theme is pretty much played out. But I’m sure they’re hoping that the Dixie Chicks backlash happens to them. Odds are, they’re the ones spreading the stories in the first place. If I were their publicist, that’s what I’d be doing.

    • Greg Goodknight says:

Dixie Chicks had only one new album after the controversy, not including two ‘best of’ releases.

The issue for them seems to have been one of performers insulting their customers’ politics.

    • Greg Goodknight says:

Another look… they’re threatening to destroy the careers of artists who dare to take the inaugural gigs. That’s union thugs at work, breaking metaphorical arms of scabs who cross the picket lines.

Only in this case, the union DEMs lost their election fair and square.

      • Chris Peterson says:

Hard to argue with all those links you provide showing the “union thugs at work.”

        Well done, Greg.

        • Greg Goodknight says:

I didn’t expect anyone to interpret that literally, Chris.

The tactics are well worn and my Grandpa Joe, a local AFL-CIO union secretary, would recognize them.
