   That seems to me to be an excellent way to create a very slippery layer of ice on the area being cleared of snow.

   Art imitating life? Somebody sent me a video a couple of years ago showing a guy with a flame thrower clearing his driveway after a snow storm. I don’t know if it was legal, but it looked impressive.

   I’m responding late to this post because I don’t have a flame thrower to clear away the snow that has piled up on Banner Mountain, or some magical way to make the power come back. We got ours back after seven days; I almost miss the sound of the generator.
