Every couple of years we are asked to approve another small tax increase to fund a worthy cause, in today’s example, mitigating our exposure to wildfires. It’s hard to object when you see what can happen to a town like Paradise, but each little increase means a lot to businesses who are trying to compete with cheaper alternatives from big box retailers down the hill.
There are no good choices.
