Chris Peterson

Chris Peterson, long time voice on this comment thread, passed away due to pancreatic cancer on May 10th.

Chris and I met in the 6th grade at Hennessy School in Grass Valley. In later years we were roommates in Nevada City and Tahoe Donner, where we worked together in the kitchen at the Northwoods Clubhouse.

There were times I wanted to murder him, and others where he saved me. All in all he was a good friend and a voice of reason on many topics discussed on this blog.

My condolences to his family and friends.

I’m sorry to hear this, Bob. Old friends who have known each other as long as you two have and remain so, are truly a valuable blessing.

Although I didn’t know him beyond your site, I always appreciated his intelligent and earnest comments. Rest in peace, Chris.

Thank you, Tom. It’s getting so I have to attend a funeral every week. It’s like the old Irish tune says; “Let’s not have a sniffle, let’s have a bloody good cry. Always remember the longer you live the sooner you bloody well die.”
    Amen.

Oh man, p-cancer is the tough one to beat. I surely enjoyed Chris’ forthright and well-considered comments here over the years. He will really be missed. I’m sorry for your loss of a long-time friend, Bob.
