Dakota Sid Clifford

Dakota Sid Clifford has passed on to that great campground in the cloud, where he is now reunited with the love of his life, Jennifer. Sid has been a pillar of the local musician community for almost half a century, and thankfully has left us with a large inventory of music to remember him by. We always looked forward to the yearly gathering at his home in Chicago Park on the first Sunday in May, affectionately known as the George Bendover party. He was a good friend and will be sorely missed.

Hi Bob, so sorry to hear about Sid’s passing. Travers and Sid came to our shop a couple of times to get an older sound machine back working on a PC, I think it was the frambulator that was on the fritz. Kind hearts and old souls, they were and are.

I just learned of Sid’s passing. He was such a kind and gentle presence. I had all of his cassettes, back in the day. Loved it when he came to Santa Cruz to play and seeing him at an Earth First! Rendezvous was always a treat. Happy Trails, Sid. I will be hearing you in the breeze.

I am so sorry to hear of Sid’s death. I used to attend his gigs at Little Brothers Pub in Roseburg, Oregon in the 1970s. He was so much fun. I remember his song “Cocaine” with fondness. Unfortunately he never recorded it. He and everyone in Roseburg who loved his shows are now dead. I’m the last one standing. Peace to Sid
