  1. It seems to me I heard the same scare stories about chicken and eggs, and they turned out to be bogus. Some suppliers are supposedly boycotting California, but since we represent 14% of the market for bacon, I don’t think they’ll walk away from that much business anytime soon.

    On the other hand, I rarely eat bacon, so I don’t really care.

    Good on you, George! I feel it’s like climate change…steps have to be made somewhere. As a life-long animal lover who became a vegetarian in 1995, I don’t believe animals should suffer. Unfortunately, it makes food costs more, but Americans have been trained to expect cheap food regardless of who/what suffers in the process. Bacon is truly the only meat product I miss, but it’s still worth honoring pigs who are as smart and sensitive as any pets we may have in our homes.
