You have a point Bob; but now if you changed ‘USA’ to ‘California’ in your graphic, then the conversation gets much longer and interesting.

And you need a few babies crawling across the border and being met by Klansmen with shotguns.

I’ve personally known two. Both spent 20+ yrs in Mexico but ultimately returned. This was before things went totally to shit with our fabulous war on drugos and cartel mania(30++ years ago). They lived above average lives and came home cause they were homesick, plain and simple.
It’s a whole ‘nuther ball game down there now. I wouldn’t go if you beat me with a stick.
    But that’s slightly off topic…

  4. It was considered a smart move in the ’70s to stretch your retirement dollars by moving to Mexico, then they devalued the peso and a lot of people lost a lot of money.

And that was before the rise of the drug cartels, which have developed a lucrative trade in shake-downs and kidnapping when they aren’t blasting away to protect their drug franchises. Unlike the old Mafia hit men, they don’t care who’s between them and their target, and wouldn’t think twice about shooting a gringo living on Social Security.

That’s one reason so many people are heading north.

I know dozens who moved south of the USA to get away to corporate controlled culture and start a more simple affordable life. Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Costa Rica, and a few places in the Caribbean.
