   Robert – anyone short of firewood in these parts after the beetle infestation has not been paying attention. Come over to my house with a truck or trailer, and I’ll send you home with a significantly enlarged carbon footprint 😉

     Again, as stated in the linked article; whether the trees are allowed to rot on the ground, or burned in your stove, they release the exact same amount of carbon. Want a bigger footprint? Switch to fossil fuel.

   You have to understand that the carbon footprint is less important than the effort it would take to retrieve the fuel. It’s covered in the sin known as “sloth.”
